He is bright, sharp, and witty and has a finely tuned intelligent, yet approachable work style. He’s an awesome communicator, both written and oral, and possesses a deep understanding of human behavior. He looks you in the eye when he engages in dialogue.

His core values and personal ethics drive his professional work. Mario is honest, trustworthy, and big-hearted.

But perhaps he is best known for his innovative approaches to working with For-Impact organizations. He is a constant, 24/7 learner! He is a skilled consultant who actively listens, thinks, and creates with mission impact in mind.

He possesses a solid understanding of and experience in developing long-term donor relationships; soliciting significant major, capital, and planned gifts; managing staff and volunteer resources; and working with boards of directors, community partners, and collaborators. He’s an excellent coach and sounding board for organizational leaders.

Prior to creating the i team, Mario was the founding principal and chief knowledge officer for BHC Consulting Group, LLC, after building an extraordinary consulting career as Executive Vice President at Hiller Associates, Inc., a nonprofit fund development firm in Massachusetts from 1998-2004.

He began in 1990 as the director of Major and Planned Gifts and moved on to become the Assistant Vice President for Development. From there he became the Vice President for Donor Relations, the Southern California Director of Gift and Estate Planning and finally the National Senior Philanthropic Advisor to the American Cancer Society. While at the American Cancer Society, Mario created and implemented four major programs, all of which are current successful national programs: planned giving, major giving, donor relations, and probate & trust administration.

Mario began his professional career as the Associate Director of Annual Giving at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and at the University of LaVerne.

He holds a bachelors of science degree in political science and a masters degree in public administration. Mario is a graduate of Stanford University’s Leadership Academy and currently resides in Sunapee, New Hampshire.

Mario has a way of getting to the heart of development without overcomplicating the process. His experience and insight into the motivation and the passion that drives donors and stakeholders, can guide even the most reluctant fundraiser into the realm ( or reality- you choose) of "friend raiser".
